Insufficient agression

In large parts, R-NAT are carebears that still operate under a mentality focused on how to fly to avoid losing your ship. But in w-space, that's not how you kill stuff, and to be successful in that we need re-program ourselves to be more hunters and less risk averse.

Thing is, we are already better then most other corps at the basics; scanning, scouting, travelling unseen, guessing what targets are up to based on their behavior in POS etc... We can also fly fleets that's pretty decent and well designed, and we have the SP to back it.

Still, somehow when we make contact, we chicken out. We like to spend a lot of time trying to guess how many active pilots opponents have, and what they might bring if we where to ask for a dance.

Fact is, there are few groups out there that are so constantly on the ball and with a fleet we could not handle, if they chose to take whatever bait we show. But if we give them enough time to form up, many would out-ship us. Most would outnumber us.

A few nights ago we found a C5, and since we waited a bit after we opened it up, the inhabitants was already busy scanning down the new K162 on their side when we jumped a scout in. The system was the normal C5/carebear setup, maybe 5 or 6 pilots on line hanging at the POS, in a number of different ships.

We spent a lot of time checking the POS out (which is always a good idea), half of us was mostly inactive, the other half out in cloakies looking for trouble. After a while they found the C4 that we had come from and started to scan that one out.

We eventually tried catch their scanning Tengu on the exit of this C4, but failed. By doing this we showed all of our hand. We followed the Tengu back home but was a bit to slow to catch him before he cloaked up in his C5. Our initial cloaky scout managed to get a warpin and kill on a sniping Naga that had joined the Tengu 125km of the C4 WH, but that was end of game. They would most probably not give us a fight now that we had showed what we had.

What we should have done (maybe) was to, as soon as our scout reported scan probes out in the C5, planed and placed a bait at the C4/C5 WH and got the fleet ready.

If we had let their scout find something on the WH that they thought they could kill, they would most likely think that was the ship that opened up their K162 and maybe, just maybe they would try and get something to kill it.
